Dengler History Award Eric Allshouse |
It is with great pleasure that the Board of Directors of the Lawrence History Center announces the recipients of the 2013 Eartha Dengler History Award. We invite you to join us as a sponsor for this very special event as we honor:
David Meehan and Jonas Stundzia:
For the Love of Lawrence
David and Jonas have lived their lives in Lawrence with a love and passion for the city, its rich and diverse history, its people, and its built environment. In the extraordinary achievement of the Strikers’ Monument, they have given Lawrence the rare gift of a profound and resonant piece of public art. With its powerful emotion, the Monument brings the City back from its repression of the meaning and impact of the strike. And it lets all Lawrencians take pride in the stand for justice that was the Bread and Roses Strike of 1912.
The event will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. at Esperanza Academy, 198 Garden Street, Lawrence.
The Award Ceremony offers significant opportunities for partners and sponsors to join the History Center in honoring the lifetime efforts of David Meehan and Jonas Stundzia while preserving the history and heritage of Lawrence held in our extensive archive. Sponsorship gifts support the ongoing and necessary preservation efforts required to make research materials available and ensure that the story of Lawrence is preserved for future generations!
Or, please make checks payable to: Lawrence History Center, 6 Essex St., Lawrence, MA 01840. We thank you for your generous sponsorship and look forward to celebrating with you on June 20, 2013!
Kindly respond by May 30, 2013.
