LHC Begins New Series of Outreach Activities
Two weeks ago the Lawrence History Center began a series of outreach events when archivist Jennifer Williams and board member Francina Victoria set up a table on the Common to speak to the residents of Lawrence about the LHC. It was very successful, and in over two hours they spoke to about twenty people. Today, LHC staff members Jennifer Williams and Amita Kiley were welcomed by the owners of Carleen's Restaurant on South Broadway in South Lawrence.
Over a period of five hours they spoke to over sixty individuals and families about conducting research at the LHC, donating materials so that they can be preserved for future generations, and the two exhibits that are currently open on the sixth floor of the Everett Mill. They handed out flyers as well as business cards to individuals of varying ages and ethnicities. Thank you so much to the owners of Carleen's Restaurant for allowing us to visit their business and customers!
Are you interested in having the Lawrence History Center come to your organization/business/event and set up a table? If so, please contact Jennifer Williams at 978-686-9230 or jenn@lawrencehistory.org. We love reaching out to the community and look forward to working with more people to let everyone in Lawrence know about what the LHC has to offer!
