LHC To Hold 2nd Annual Family History Day!
On Saturday, October 20th, 2012 the Lawrence History Center will promote making donations to our organization by holding the 2nd Annual Family History Day. The LHC will be open to the public between 10am and 3pm in order to assist people who wish to make a donation. We will be accepting all kinds of personal, family, and business records, including letters, diaries, digital files, and ledgers. Materials from both the present and past are welcome. Spanish speaking staff will be available to help those who require a translator. Please feel free to spread the word about this event by downloading and printing our flyers (Spanish and English) here.
Many people think that their personal, family, and business history is not important, but it is in fact vital to documenting the history of the city. By donating letters and other materials, current and future generations will be able to see what it was like to live in Lawrence both now and in the past. Children and grandchildren of current and former residents will have the opportunity to see and learn about their relatives. If you have any questions please contact Jennifer Williams at 978-686-9230 or jenn@lawrencehistory.org. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, October 20th!
