Assassination of Lincoln

Linda Siegenthaler

I am quite interested in seeing Lorre Fritchey's exhibit as we approach the 200th anniversary of the birth of Abraham Lincoln in 2009.

It is important to document the loss of Lawrence's industrial history as we transform our city to new uses. The founders of Lincoln Fruit and Syrup, the Issenberg brothers and their family nationally known for their innovations. The company later named Lincoln Foods was a landmark in Lawrence before its sale .
The Abraham Lincoln Syrup bottles were familiar to Lawrencians and are a reminder of the ingenuity of Lawrence's immigrants.

Linclon Syrup Bottles

Thank you Linda, for the additional background about the Issenberg family and the Lincoln Foods company. If anyone wishes to donate an Abraham Lincoln Syrup bottle, we would be grateful to have one in the collection.
