Lawrence Students Experience Lawrence History!

On May 28, 2010 the Lawrence History Center welcomed some wonderful visitors from Lawrence's School for Exceptional Studies. We were very impressed with these students' respect, curiosity and admiration for their city. They toured our courtyard and buildings, including the blacksmith's shop, and examined such artifacts as 100 year old horseshoes, a pushcart used in the Boston farmers market, and a horse-drawn fire truck. The students asked plenty of questions about the workings of the tools in the blacksmith's shop. They also discussed the cobblestone surface in the courtyard and how noisy Lawrence must have been when all the streets were made of cobblestone. We hope these students enjoyed their visit as much as we enjoyed having them, and we'd love for them to visit again soon!
