Digitizing Audio Tapes

The procedure for digitizing audio tapes is as follows. (Note: This is very preliminary and will evolve steadily as we work out the details)

1. Put an audio tape in the player, rewind to the beginning
2. Start Audacity (icon at the top panel)
3. Click the red record button in Audacity
4. Press the 'play' button on the tape player
5. Check to make sure Audacity is recording a wave on the screen
6. When the tape is finished, press the square 'stop' button in Audacity
7. To save: Click 'File/Export' and name the file
8. After it's saved click the 'x' in the upper LEFT of the TRACK to clear that track in Audacity
9. That's it, you're ready for another tape (or the other side of that one).
